36th Annual Golf Tournament

is Tuesday, July 22, 2014

This is a fun and always entertaining tradition that we would LOVE to have you involved in!  The Golf Tournament is a Scramble, so get your foursome together and get registered today!  There will be a dinner, short program with awards, and some great prizes.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:

We are still looking for a group to work the Food Wagon this weekend! (4th of July)  If you are looking for a way to earn money for your team, club, or activity, please contact us so that we can get you on a schedule!  Groups can earn $125 per day worked.  Email us at, or call 763-706-3743! 

An adult must be present during the entire shift, and typically each shift we need 3-4 people.  Feel free to bring signs to promote your team/group!  Weekends can fill up quickly so please reach us as soon as you know when you’re available! 

We have begun to sell the 2015 Easy Money Raffle Calendars.  If you know of a team, club, or activity involving youth in Columbia Heights that would like to earn funds, please reach out to us!  This will be our 6th year selling these calendars, and they have proven to be a GREAT fundraiser! (not to mention, $12,525 in cash prizes!!)  We only print 1,250 calendars, and when they are gone, they are gone.  Pick up yours today at Sarna’s Classic Grill in the pull tab booth!

We are looking for additional help at Bingo on Monday nights at 7pm.  Inexperienced?  No problem!  We train!  Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.  Contact us if interested!

4thAnnual Heights Hustle 5K Run/Walk was held Saturday, June 28, 2014

What a great morning it was!  We had 52 entrants in the race.  Thank you to all of the people that helped put this event together again this year, and the many volunteers who helped pull it off on the day of the race!  We are looking forward to next year!  Please contact us if you are interested in helping with the event in 2015.  




Thank you to those from Columbia Academy that joined us for dinner on Thursday, February 13, 2014 and then watched the CHHS Boys Basketball Game!  We were also able to feed the JV team, which they enjoyed greatly!   Coaches and captains were  on hand to meet and greet.  Thanks again for joining us!

What a great turn out we had from Highland, North Park, and Valley View Elementaries on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the High School for the CHHS Boys Basketball Game!  Kids and parents were invited to come down to the caffeteria at 5:45 for a free dinner, and to meet the Captains of the team.  The Boosters were on hand to serve dinner and meet and greet with the kids and parents, and then head upstairs to cheer for our HYLANDERS!  THANK YOU to everyone who came out to join us, and another THANK YOU to all of the Boosters on hand who helped!

Our Hylander Football Team is playing in the Section Championship this Friday!

We will be facing off against St. Croix Lutheran in West St. Paul on Friday, November 1st, at 7pm.  The Columbia Heights Boosters would like to invite you all to join us pre-game to get fired up before they face off.  Meet us at Buffalo Wild Wings @ 1458 South Robert Street after 5:30pm.  Hope to see you there!

Hall of Fame Dinner

CHHS Cafeteria ~ Come join us for a dinner and presentation to honor the 2013 Hall of Fame Inductees:  Joe Klis and Jim Galuska!




Join us starting at 5:30 at the Booster Wagon for some good old tailgating fun  before the Heights Football Game!  We will be in the parking lot until game time.  Come join the fun and share your HEIGHTS PRIDE!

Each Friday and Saturday through Labor Day Weekend, you can find the Booster Food Wagon in the parking lot of Top Valu Liquors!  We have many volunteer groups working throughout the summer to sell you some fabulous grilled treats!

Who We Are…

The Boosters began, in 1955 or thereabout with Joe Klis, Freddie Brynes, Frenchy Von Dell, Dick Borchardt, and John Murzyn Sr. They met in the field house, sometimes in the downstairs Boiler Room and then moved to John Murzyn’s Park Board office. A note was printed from a very old paper that was found by Gary Peterson that contained the following:

“To create an organization of community volunteers that will use all their talents and skills to raise money to support youth activities and athletics in Columbia Heights so that all youth who wish to participate in activities will not be denied as a result of not having the financial means to do so.”

This has been the our mission statement from the very beginning.  From this meager beginning – the Boosters have continually grown. (click here for more Boosters History)

What we are…

Our Organization is busy year round with fundraisers such as selling hot dogs and Pop at Top Valu during the summer weekends, Annual 5K, Annual Golf Tournament, Running the Food Wagon at the Jamboree, and also through Charitable Gambling, such as Bar Bingo, Pull Tab Sales, Raffle Calendar Sales, and Meat Raffles.  Through these efforts, we have been able to provide more  than $275.0000.00 in scholarships to the graduating seniors at Columbia Heights High School, and more than $2 Million in donations to the City of Columbia Heights, the Park & Recreation Dept. and Independent School District 13.

Where we are…

We invite you to become a Member of this organization.  You can be part of a group of volunteers that are giving their time and talents to the Community and School District 13.  We are all working towards a common Goal – to provide funds for the programs that your kids wish to participate in. Meetings are the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Murzyn Hall, lower level, just inside the back door (senior room) 7:00 PM.  Your only obligation is to just show up.
